artist statement:

My artwork reflects a glimpse into the mundane of every day life and how nostalgia and peace can only occur after a moment has passes. time is fleeting and documentation is essential to the archive of my being.

currently, i am a senior at university of north texas with graduation plans for 2026. my major is art education with a minor in art history and psychology.

Teaching Philosophy: My art teaching philosophy stems from the idea that art education is an absolute necessity to learn in school and creates a safe space for students to express their individuality and freedom of choice. From my personal art experience in school, having a supportive and motivational art teacher can be a life changing experience for students. Being able to create original art is a form of literacy. The skills and thought process for creative expression need to be taught, as they are as fundamental to an educational foundation as mathematics and science. My classroom pedagogy will be a combination of Choice-Based/Teaching for Artistic Behavior and Project-Based Learning. It is important for my students to know that everyone is an artist and everyone’s art is valuable in the classroom.
